Check your bike
Before setting out it’s important that both you and your bike are fit for the LIC250CC challenge. Make sure all your brakes are working, chain is lubricated, tyres are pumped and gears are in check.
Fuel your body
Make sure you get plenty of rest the night before, eat plenty of carbohydrates before and after. Remember to stay hydrated, refilling water everywhere you can.
Build your stamina
Start by riding at least 150 minutes a week and when you feel ready to push yourself further, start introducing hills and some longer rides at the weekend. This should get you ready for the 250km challenge. It’s not a race, its about finishing the long distance each day that matters.
Plot your miles and research your route
Look over our route online, check the details on strava, work out what points you might need to take a break. Check that you have all the right equipment should you experience a problem with your bike or body!

|PM||Check in at campsite, pick up tent/bags – Set up|

|7pm-10pm||Live music and entertainment|
|7.15am – 8am||Registration & tent/bag drop – Breakfast 6:00am – 8:00am|
|8am||START Day 2 – 90km ride from Wallingford to Dewhurst|
|11:00am >||FINISH Dewhurst – BBQ 12:00(noon)|
|2-3pm||Minibus leaves to ILE (Limited spaces available – prebooked)|
|6-10pm||Afterparty in Richmond – see Reiss (wink)|
This is the official LIC250CC weekend route, feed stops and for those that lose their tassels or break their bells, the local bike shops!
Please ensure you keep a copy on your phone and link it to Strava or your GPS.
This will help you easily navigate the beautiful route that we’ve set out for you.
For those without Strava or a GPS – We will have markers along the route.
We would however always advise you keep a copy of the route on you.
Even if its printed and in a sandwich bag – just in case you manage to get lost and find yourself in the wrong village pub!
